Stories of neglect and abandonment of the elderly bring tears to our eyes. Hundreds of elderly people are abused and left to fend for themselves during the last few years of their lives; a time when they’re supposed to be taken care of and supported. They once held our hands and taught us the importance of life and its various lessons. During their old age, they turn into our children. And it is our responsibility to look after them with care and love.

Diwali is known to be the festival of good winning over evil. Let’s take this opportunity to stand beside our senior citizens and give them the life they deserve. While we celebrate this festive season with our near and dear ones, let us not forget those who have no one in their lives.
A healthy diet is necessary at every stage of life but for the elderly, it is a must. While they battle several old age-related illnesses - fresh and nutritious food will help them keep sickness at bay.
Donatekart and Ramlal Old Age Home have joined hands to make a difference in the lives of these senior citizens.

About the NGO: For the last 12 years, Ramlal Old Age Home has been a haven for hundreds of senior citizens with nowhere to go. They provide their residents with safe, spacious, furnished rooms with attached washrooms and personal assistants to help them move about, bathe, eat, etc. Around 350 old men and women call this their home and are treated like family here.
