Incessant Rain Has Ravaged The Konkan Region For Several Days ,Chiplun In Ratnagiri District Is One Of The Worst Hit Areas

Rotary Club of Mumbai Juhu Is working to Help the Victims Of The Incessant Rain and Floods in Maharashtra.

One of the major regions that has been devastated by the floods in Maharashtra is that of Chiplun in Ratnagiri district. Images of waterlogged streets, submerged cars, and struggling people make for terrible viewing.

Incessant rain has ravaged the Konkan region for several days causing major rivers in Ratnagiri and Raigad districts to overflow above the danger levels. Several long-distance trains have been stopped, cancelled, or rescheduled on the Konkan Railway route. As per reports, around 6,000 passengers were stranded in trains which were regulated at various stations on the Konkan Railway route.

Chiplun’s marketplaces, residential and commercial complexes are submerged under water. Electricity and communication lines have been snapped, bridges in and around Chiplun are underwater and establishing contact with residents is a struggle. The State Transport bus stand has been completely submerged, with all parked buses under water. As the Vashishti river overflowed, hundreds of residents of Chiplun have been left stranded and are awaiting rescue.

They want to distribute dry grocery kits that will include rice, dal, atta, milk, etc. to all those in need. They will also be distributing blankets and sanitary napkins that are essential during this time of crisis. People have lost their houses in the blink of an eyesore these products are sure to help them immensely. They are doing their best but with your help, Rotary Club of Mumbai Juhu will be able to reach out to many more in need. In these difficult times, it is important that we stand beside them and help them in their hour of need.
