Support Paw In Need To Give 350+ Stray Animals A Life Filled With Happiness

“Tuffy was our first rescue puppy and the motivation behind everything we do. He was adopted by a family, but they started mistreating him during the pandemic. One day, I saw Tuffy outside my hostel. I thought he had lost his way and tried dropping him back home. This happened thrice and every time we left him there, he would run away and come back to us. We then sent him to a vet and he was put on anti-anxiety substances. He suffered a lot during this crisis and there are so many animals just like him.” - Sonali Tripathi, Founder, Paw In Need

Tuffy is now happy and healthy. But there are so many Tuffy’s out there who are in so much pain. Stray animals have suffered even before Covid-19, but the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns made it even worse for them. Paw In Need is determined to give hundreds of stray animals a better life amid this crisis.

Paw In Need’s Tremendous Efforts

Started in 2015 by Sonali Tripathi, Paw In Need is now a dedicated team of 15 who work towards the betterment of stray animals. Stray animals have especially suffered during the pandemic. They work in Pilkhuwa ( Delhi NCR ), Saharanpur and Ranchi.

“Many people left their pets on the roads because they thought they’ll get infected. The food that they got from restaurants and hotels also stopped and along with that they faced so much cruelty.”

To date, Paw In Need continues to feed over 350+ dogs every day. 95+ dogs have been sterilized, 300+ have been vaccinated, 40+ dogs and 6+ cats have been rehomed and they’ve made 15 feeding spots where strays can always find food. During the pandemic, they have taken care of 220+ dogs and 30+ cats.

The team at Paw In Need continues their relentless efforts despite all the hardship.

“We’ve seen so many stray animals move closer to our areas because they find food here. They find comfort and love. There were so many starving pregnant mothers and puppies. But now they’ve found hope - they are healthy and happy. And we want to continue doing this work.”
