Partner With Indian Socio Income and Grievance Helping Trust to Improve the lives of leprosy cured old age In India
Project
Mahatma Gandhi Kusht Colony is home to families who have lived with the lifelong impact of leprosy and the social isolation that comes with it. Many residents are elderly, physically weak, and abandoned by relatives who fear stigma more than they value relations. Despite the name “colony,” the reality is harsh: most homes are broken structures, medical support is irregular, and many residents struggle for basic necessities like food, clean clothes, and hygiene items.
We are raising funds directly for the residents of Mahatma Gandhi Kusht Colony — not for organizational overhead, not for promotions, and not for administrative expenses. Every contribution goes straight into improving their daily living conditions.
Why We Are Raising Funds
This community faces challenges most people never see:
• Many elderly residents cannot walk properly and live without proper bedding or clothing.
• Several individuals depend on daily donations to eat even one full meal.
• Medical needs such as wound care, dressings, and basic medicines are constant but unaffordable.
• During winters, many residents suffer severely because they do not have warm clothes or blankets.
• The colony lacks consistent hygiene supplies like soaps, sanitary materials, dustbins, and cleaning items.
These are not luxuries. These are essentials required for a basic, dignified life.
Where the Money Will Go
To maintain complete transparency, funds will be allocated in the following areas:
1. Food Support: Nutritious meals, ration kits, fruits, and essentials for elderly patients.
2. Clothing & Warm Materials: New and good-condition clothes, bedsheets, blankets, slippers, towels, and personal-use items.
3. Medical Aid: Basic medicines, wound dressings, bandages, antiseptics, and doctor visits when needed.
4. Hygiene & Cleanliness: Soaps, washing powder, sanitizers, buckets, dustbins, and cleaning equipment for their surroundings.
5. Emergency Needs: Support for individuals needing urgent medical attention or basic repairs in their shelters.
Every rupee spent will be documented, and updates will be shared so that supporters know exactly what impact their contribution is creating.
An Honest Appeal to Supporters:
If you're reading this, understand one thing clearly:
These people do not need sympathy. They need action. Not everyone can change the whole colony, but each of us can change one person’s day. A small contribution can mean a blanket for an old man sleeping on the floor, or medicine for a woman who has been in pain for weeks.
Your support is not just money — it becomes food, dignity, warmth, and relief for someone who has been ignored by society for decades.
If you believe in helping those who have been left behind, this is your chance to make a direct, visible, measurable difference.
Thank you for your kindness.
Regards,
