Srikruthi is only 8 years old. An age meant for school bells, homework, and dreams about the future. Instead, her childhood has been defined by hospital visits, blood tests, and monthly transfusions ever since she was diagnosed with Thalassemia Major at the age of two.

Her body is unable to produce healthy blood on its own. To survive, she depends on donated blood every month.

But Srikruthi is not the only child in the family fighting this battle.

Her younger brother, Ritwik, who is just 6 years old, has also been diagnosed with the same condition.

For their parents, life has become a constant cycle of hospital appointments, transfusion schedules, and endless worry.

“I don't remember the last time I planned for my children's future without thinking about hospitals. Every month, we simply pray that they remain strong enough until the next transfusion,” says their mother.

Srikruthi’s father works at a church and has spent years serving his community, helping others through prayer and faith. Today, however, every prayer he offers carries the same request.

That his daughter gets the chance to live a normal life.

“As a father, I would do anything for my children. Every day I pray for them. When I see my daughter lying weak after transfusions, I ask God for just one blessing, the chance for her to grow up healthy,” he says.

Doctors have explained that blood transfusions can only keep Srikruthi stable for now. The only long-term cure is a bone marrow transplant, a procedure that could free her from a lifetime of hospital visits and give her a chance at a normal childhood.

Amidst all the uncertainty, there is one ray of hope.

Her father has been identified as a matching donor.

The same father who has spent years caring for and protecting his daughter is now ready to give a part of himself to save her life.

“When the doctors told me I was a match, I felt hopeful for the first time in a long while. I am ready to do whatever it takes to save my daughter. I only pray that we get the chance to proceed with her treatment,” he says.

Srikruthi loves studying. Her teachers describe her as bright, curious, and eager to learn. But lately, hospital visits and weakness have begun to take away the childhood she deserves.

The transplant could give her the opportunity to attend school regularly, play with her friends, and dream about her future without the constant shadow of illness.

For her father, that is all he wants.Not wealth. Not comfort. Just the chance to see his daughter live a healthy life.
