For Aradhya’s parents, the worst seemed to be over.

After nearly a year of chemotherapy, their little girl was finally doing better. At just two years and nine months old, Aradhya had already endured months of cancer treatment. Her parents had watched her go through chemotherapy and hoped they could finally leave the hardest days behind.

But just two months later, the cancer returned.

Aradhya was diagnosed with blood cancer in December 2024. After completing nearly a year of chemotherapy, her family thought they could finally breathe again. Instead, the relapse brought them back to the hospital, where Aradhya had to undergo chemotherapy once more.

Now, she needs a bone marrow transplant.

The treatment is taking place at Bharathi Hospital in Pune, and the transplant is expected to cost around Rs 15 lakh, an amount her family is struggling to arrange.

Aradhya’s father worked as an electrician in Mumbai. But when his daughter’s cancer relapsed in March, he made the difficult decision to leave his job so he could be by her side.

Since then, the family has had no regular income.

“We are using all our savings now,” he says.

In July, the family travelled from Mumbai to Pune for Aradhya’s treatment. Their days are now centred around hospital visits, chemotherapy, medicines and the uncertainty of what comes next.

For Aradhya’s father, there was no question of continuing to work while his daughter went through treatment alone. He chose to stay with her. But with his earnings stopped and their savings steadily being spent on her care, the family is now facing a much bigger challenge, arranging the funds for her bone marrow transplant.

At only two years and nine months old, Aradhya has already had to fight cancer twice.

Her parents want to give her every possible chance to overcome it and grow up without hospitals and chemotherapy defining her childhood. But the cost of the treatment she now needs is far beyond what the family can manage on their own.

They have already used their savings and left their life in Mumbai behind to be with their daughter in Pune. Now, they need help to take the next step.
