20-Year-Old’s Skull Pierced Into His Brain In A Brutal Crash, Now His Brother Begs For Help To Not Lose Him

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

He was lying in the middle of the road, his head bleeding, his body still. His skull bone had pierced into his brain…his face was crushed. I shouted, ‘Andaz, it’s me, bhai!’ but his eyes were empty. He couldn’t even recognize me. I cannot explain the terror of realizing my brother didn’t even know who I was at that moment.”- Suraj, Andaz’s brother

The brutal crash pierced his skull bone into his brain and he lay there in a pool of blood, unrecognizable

20-year-old Andaz had barely stepped into adulthood when a tragic accident turned his life upside down. Riding home with his friend on a bike to his village in Uttarakhand, his journey was cut short when their bike skidded over a rock on the road, throwing him violently to the ground.

Doctors fought for him in a 7-hour surgery to remove the fragments of bone lodged deep inside his brain

By the time they reached the hospital, after 1.5 hours of struggle and massive blood loss, Andaz was on the edge of life. They managed to save his life, yet even now, his battle continues in the ICU due to:

  • Multiple brain hemorrhages with swelling.

  • Skull bone displaced and pushed inward into brain tissue.

  • Severe facial fractures and air pockets inside the brain.

“This is not the brother I know. My Andaz used to laugh the loudest, make jokes even after working all day in the sun. Now, he is silent most of the time, except when pain rips through him, and I am just helpless.”

For Suraj, Rs. 11.5 lakh is a cruel wall between his brother’s life and death

The doctors say there is hope, with another surgery and continued ICU care, Andaz can survive and recover. But that comes with an overwhelming cost of Rs. 11.5 lakhs

“All I had was Rs.8,000. I gave it to the hospital in the first few days, but it was not even enough for his medicines. Now the bills are in lakhs. He is only 20. He hasn’t seen life yet. I don’t want his laughter to end here, on a hospital bed.”

Both brothers come from a family that survives on daily wage labour. Dropping out of school after 8th grade, Andaz worked wherever he could - construction sites, fields, carrying bricks, just to earn Rs.200-250 a day to help his family eat. Even in this hardship, Andaz never complained but felt blessed with so little.

Don’t let this accident take him away from me

“He would come home tired, but still tease me, still smile. He would say, ‘Bhai, one day we will make life better for Ma and Baba.’ He is the hope of our family. I cannot imagine going back home without him.”

Andaz’s survival depends on urgent financial support. Your help can give him the surgery and care he urgently needs and give Suraj back his younger brother. Please Donate.
