For Frinil’s father, every day is a struggle to keep his son alive while trying to provide for his family. A fisherman by profession, he has spent years battling the waves to earn a living. Today, he faces a far more difficult battle, which is finding the money to afford his son’s lifesaving medical treatment.
The family’s ordeal began in 2018, when Frinil was just two years old. They discovered that his kidneys were not functioning properly, causing swelling in his body and dangerously low salt levels in his blood.
“Since then, my son has needed continued medical care, with hospital visits almost twice a month,” his father shares.
The family has been seeking treatment in Chennai, doing everything possible to manage his condition. But their troubles worsened last month, when Frinil was admitted to the hospital on the 16th of October and shifted to the ICU on the 25th. Doctors informed the family that a flu virus had affected his lungs, leaving him struggling to breathe.
“I am a fisherman. I earn around Rs 9,000 a month,” his father shares. With such a limited income, supporting his family and paying for his son’s treatment has become nearly impossible. He also has a younger son whose education fees he must provide for.
Desperate to save Frinil, the family has already sold their fishing boat — the very source of their livelihood.
Despite this enormous sacrifice, they are still struggling to meet the mounting medical expenses. Every day brings uncertainty, as his father tries to balance the cost of treatment with the basic needs of his family.
For a father who has spent his life working at sea, there is nothing more painful than watching his child suffer and feeling helpless to provide the care he needs. He has done everything within his means, but he cannot fight this battle alone.
You can help Frinil get the medical care he urgently needs. Your support can help ease the family’s financial burden and give this young boy a chance to recover, breathe easier, and look forward to a healthier future.
