Victims Of Animal Cruelty, These Cows Can Live A Happy & Healthy Life With Your Help

    Project

7 years ago, Rasik Mohan Dargar and his friends were on the National Highway, near Kishangarh, Rajasthan, when they came across a severely injured cow on the road. Her condition was terrible and despite the friends trying their best, they were unable to save her.

The sight of the injured cow broke my heart. I was shocked at the amount of cruelty these poor animals were subjected to. It was at this time that my friends and I decided to do something to take care of these helpless animals. And that is how we started off with this cow hospital in Kishangarh,” - Rasik Mohan Dargar, Secretary, krishangarh gau chikitsa samiti

These animals have only known cruelty and pain

Kishangarh is situated in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district and is surrounded by National Highways on all four sides. As a result of which, hundreds of cows and other animals become victims of road accidents. They are often left there and the poor animals die a painful death.

We have set up a helpline number and have distributed multiple leaflets in and around our hospital so that whoever notices an animal in distress can bring them to us,"-Subhash Chand Jamad , president

On any regular day, the cow hospital takes care of around 170 ailing cows - out of which 70-80 are challenged and in no condition to be returned to the streets. A dedicated team of vets and volunteers work round the clock to feed them, give them medicine and treat them with utmost care during their last days. Lakhs of rupees are spent on taking care of these voiceless beings who have no one else to help them.  In the last seven years, they have helped treat 12,500 cows

We have been very lucky to have the support of so many people who have always been by our side. It is with their support that we were able to distribute fodder to over 3000 cows in both the lockdowns - cows who have been abandoned and had nothing to eat during this crisis.”

    How you can help

For the last 7 years, Krishangarh Gau Chikitsa Samiti has been working day and night to serve these injured and sick cows. But now they want to expand and provide better facilities to the ailing animals. For that purpose, they would need fodder, medicines and equipment like that of an X-ray machine, operation tables etc.

These animals don’t deserve to die like this. We believe it is our responsibility to take care of them when no one is coming forward. These cows come with huge amounts of plastic in their stomachs or often in such a bad state that their limbs have to be amputated. We want to give them the best treatment possible - please help us.”
