This Diwali , Kartavya Wants To Give Hundreds Of Stray Dogs A Happier & Healthier Life, Support Them

I have always been a pet lover . But I never truly understood the suffering of stray animals , unless in the year 2013 while I was studying I noticed a lactating mother eating cow dung and rotten food from the community dustbin . Her almost 2 months babies , who were following her almost got hit by speedy vehicle . “That particular incidence changed me as a human , it made me realise that these innocent creatures too deserves a good quality food. They already go through so many struggles on streets on daily basis , and hunger makes things more worse for them .

Since that very day , I started feeding that family and noticed a positive change in thr lives . They didn’t have to struggle to find something to eat and that gave me a lot of peace .And from that very day , our daily feeding drive started and kartavya was founded .Every day, me and Akash we take steps to achieve our mission I.e to bring positive change in the life of stray animals .

As of now , we are a proud feeder of 600 plus dogs , runs a small foster care where we keep and treat critical cases and provide on street treatment to 10-12 animals a day , run spay/neuter drives. At kartavya , me and Akash ( co founder ) feed more than 600 street kids of Bhopal on everyday basis. Our feeding drives ensures that these dog  get to have healthy food every single day .Just like we humans and our pets , street dogs too deserves good quality food .

Our day starts at 5 in the morning, when we with the help of our hired feeder bhaiya our feeding drive starts . Our feeding drives is the only source of food for so many strays , who would have died of starvation during lockdown . They are now dependent on us for the food and it’s our responsibility as a human , not to take away the only “ good thing “ from the lives - I.e daily food .

Unfortunately, things are getting difficult to manage as looking after so many lives require huge funds . We struggle the most in continuing our feeding drive , as COVID has lessened down the amount of support we used to get . Every month is a new struggle we face to arrange the food of 600 plus kids .

Diwali is the Festival of Lights happiness, and we too wish to make this a happy one for our kids . they too deserves to be happy and enjoy this festival just like all of us . Through this campaign, we wish to arrange for the food for coming 2-3 months so that we don’t have to struggle and our feeding drives can continue without any hindrance .

That’s the only gift we wish to give to our kids - a commitment, that they will continue to be fed by us .For that we need your support.

About the NGO:

Kartavya Animal And Social Welfare Society was started by Riddhi Paliwal and Akash Saxena in 2014 in Bhopal. Since then, they have been feeding over 600 dogs every day and also rescue and rehabilitate injured dogs. Their aim is to feed and care for as many strays as possible, while helping them have a better life.
