Story of the changemaker
How many times have we all seen the condition of street sweepers? The people who keep our surroundings clean, are often living in tatters and rags themselves. Jeeva Spandana Seva Trust needs your help in order to distribute clothes and groceries to street sweepers on the occasion of Dussehra and Diwali. This will allow them to celebrate festivities with dignity.
Sweepers are unfortunately amongst the most looked down upon members of our society. They are ill treated, and don’t receive a decent wage for all their labour. Their lifestyle is always dismal, and they never get to enjoy two full meals a day. They always dress up in old clothes discarded by others, yet can’t even afford to buy new clothes for themselves.
Jeeva Spandana Seva Trust strives to help out the impoverished, old people, orphans and people in need. This festive season, they want to bring smiles to the faces of the people who keep our streets clean. More than 500 street sweepers will benefit from this distribution drive.
You may not be able to change the lives of the underprivileged, but you can definitely help them celebrate a festival with happiness and dignity.
