For Over A Decade Jivdaya Trust Has Been Saving Injured Birds, Join Them In Their Mission
Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.
French playwright, Jacques Deval, had rightfully commented, “God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages.”
Imagine the plight of a bird with broken wings, trying to fly but unable to do it. Or a one with deep gashes on its body, bleeding out to death without any help. Thousands of birds are injured, displaced, and orphaned on a yearly basis. They suffer from illnesses due to environmental pollution caused by human beings.
Jivdaya Charitable Trust, based out of Ahmedabad, rescues, treats, and rehabilitates birds of over 100 species including critically endangered vultures. Currently, they have around 150+ injured birds in their care. They also train avian rehabilitators from various organizations across India and carry out comprehensive community awareness programs promoting the coexistence of animals and human beings.
Over a decade-long service to the voiceless and a strong commitment to their welfare
Jivdaya Charitable Trust was established as an NGO in the year 2007 with the sole motive of taking care of injured and abandoned stray animals by Himmatbhai Shah, Hasmukhbhai Shah, and his daughter Giraben Shah. What started off with a handful of dedicated animal enthusiasts, one ambulance, and an office cum dispensary on the Panjrapole campus has become one of the leading non-profit vet hospitals in and around the city of Ahmedabad with superb facilities for animals and birds.
“Our objective is to help animals who are suffering in pain and we try our best to nurture them back to a healthy and happy life. Our facility is in the centre of the city and very well connected by roads. Animal lovers from across Ahmedabad routinely bring in injured and distressed strays to our hospital. Similarly, we receive a variety of wild birds and small mammals at our rehabilitation centre,” - Moumita Chatterjee, Program Director, Jivdaya Charitable Trust.
Loss of habitat and nesting areas have resulted in the displacement of over 2000 infant water birds. Jivdaya Trust has been doing a great job at saving these injured birds and giving them a new life. Since its inception, they have saved around 11 L birds and animals in danger - many of them fall under the endangered species.
“The birds come to us in such sorry states - they’re in so much pain, that they’re unable to eat or drink. Often the scorching summer heat dehydrates them. Sometimes, they need prolonged procedure followed by proper care. Timely feeding, regularly dressing, antibiotics, pain management medicines, manual physiotherapy, etc cure them. They’re kept in an enclosure, to restrict long flights to fasten the healing process.”
Jivdaya Trust wants to save many more birds - join them now
True to its motto, this NGO wants to help many more birds who are injured and/or are victims of cruelty. Their state-of-the-art animal hospital has saved the lives of over lakhs of injured birds. With your support, they can save many more.
“We request you to donate bird food, surgical equipment, medicines, etc. for the 150+ injured and challenged birds in our care. Even a small donation will make a significant difference.”
