Support India Tribal Care Trust Provide Free Basic Healthcare Facilities To Tribal Communities

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

Few months ago, we celebrated 75th Independence of our country with pride, but how much basic need of the population have improved in these 75 years. The literacy rate of our country is still below 75%, we have only 5 beds per 10,000 people in our country.  Imagine the situation of the tribal communities, the STs living in rural and remote areas near forests and jungles. When we started our activities in Ajodhya hill top in Purulia, West Bengal there was not a single school for the local tribal population. “I have been travelling to the remotest corners of the eastern states and north eastern states for last so many years and found that there is lack of basic infrastructures in many places, where there is infrastructure there is no manpower to deliver service, so me and my fellow god-brothers thought of creating a trust which will focus on the upliftment of the tribal communities without harming their traditional values of harmony with God and nature”  said by Mahesh Chandra Pattanayak (also known as Bhakti Purusottam Swami in the ISKCON community).

‘We envision a pleasing, prosperous, healthy, educated and culturally rich life for tribal communities built on moral foundations and appropriate technologies that can sustain and nurture future generations and prevent the destruction of tribal culture by modern materialism’ with this vision we formed this trust in 2016. Since then we have build 5 schools, opened 120 pathshalas  (informal primary schools) in 117 villages of 10 districts across 5 states, we have more than 160 teachers teaching in these pathshals and most of them are also from ST communities which has also generated employment among them. At present 4300 plus tribal kids are studying in these Pathshalas. We are also running 15 schools which were once runned by the Education department of Tripura government, some of these schools were closed and some were runned with few students and in the verge of closure.

We have found that many tribal youths living in the tribal areas do not continue their studies after higher secondary and they have limited or no other scope to sustain and take care of family  and do farming, jhum cultivation. Keeping this in mind we have opened 2 vocational training centers one in Ajodhya hill of Purulia, West Bengal & the other in Shobakoda village in Visakhapatnam district of AP, where the young tribal ladies are provided training in tailoring and embroidery. Once they complete their training we will create self help group of the tribal youths and introduce them with potential buyers. This will help them become self employed and financially independent.

    Cause: Ambulance

In Borio of Sahibganj district in Jharkhand, the scenario of healthcare is grim. Here majority of the local inhabitants belongs to Santhal, Oraon, Mal paharia, Kharwar, Lohra tribal communities. Lack of development, poor health care, high illiteracy rate puts this district in the list of Aspirational District (earlier Backward district) as per NITI Aayog. There are grameen hospitals in the block but they lack with basic infrastructure and so for minor health issues the doctors refer patients to Govt. Sadar hospital in the Sahibganj district.

Non availability of ambulance creates a problem for the local inhabitants to take patients to hospitals. The poor people can't effort to hire private vehicles to take their near ones to hospitals. An ambulance service in the rural Borio area is a need of the hour.

This ambulances will be available 24 x 7 x 365 days in the ITCT centres in Borio, Sahibganj, Jharkhand for the use of the local villagers and tribal communities. The cost of an ambulance made by Mahindra motors is around Rs. 9.2 lacs (Basic model) and if we can raise fund using for this ambulance through crowd funding it will be of great help.

We are looking forward for your kind Support !
