Support children with life-limiting illnesses at Happy Feet home

Happy Feet Home (HFH), India’s first Children’s Hospice has been in operation since August 2014.

HFH provides the following services to the children and their caregivers:

•Counseling- The children and caregivers are counseled on health issues including mental health and other adjustment problems that may occur. 

•Art based therapy sessions are conducted regularly with the children, twice a week by a certified art based therapist

•Respite care- the day care serves as a safe space for children under palliative care and serves as a respite for parents/caregivers who are working

•Nutrition Support- HFH provides the children with healthy nutrition which includes breakfast, lunch and evening snacks. 

•Group engagement activities- Given the high energy levels of the children, HFH organizes activities using games and arts that not only channelize the energies of the children but also serves to enhance social and academic skills. 

•Medical support- The children generally visit the hospital alone for their monthly check-ups. To ensure that their follow up visits are timely and regular, a HFH staff accompanies the child. To ensure regular intake of medicines, HFH conducts routine checks on their health and also sponsors the medicines which they cannot afford.

Educational support - Support the kids with their dreams , goals and a plan on how to go about it. We also look into their academic education

•Home visit are conducted to ensure that the children, caregivers and other family members are coping well

We are close to completing 3 years of operations. We have seen high impact in the health and wellness of our children because of the services we provide.
