Even in today’s day and age, it is heartbreaking to see there are so many in our country who don’t have regular access to the bare necessities like that of food. Every day in their life is a struggle and sometimes they are not even able to feed their families two square meals a day.
It becomes more difficult for them when they are faced with a medical emergency. Their bare minimum income doesn’t allow them to spend money on food because all they now care about is treating the patient and giving them the best treatment.
This is where ISKCON Bangalore’s Anna Sri feeding drive comes into the picture. They have decided to serve free, hygienic cooked meals to the underprivileged patients as well as their family members who are looking after them.
How are they serving people in need
“Since the second wave of the pandemic, we have decided to feed all those who are not privileged enough and are unable to afford their daily meals. We have been feeding over 1000 people daily spread across 4 government hospitals in Bangalore,” - Achyuta Govinda Dasa.
Currently, they are feeding 500 people daily in Victoria Hospital, 200 people in KC General Hospital, Malleshwaram, 150 people in Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital In Dietyjinagar and 150 people in ESIC Hospital in Rajajinagar.
ISKCON Bangalore wants to focus on all those who are hungry and in need of help. Every day during lunch, they send hygienically cooked food to the hospitals. The freshly packed food is distributed to beneficiaries in stalls set up in the hospital premises.
“This takes their mind off from the immediate worry of food and even if it’s for a while, they can solely concentrate on taking care of their sick family members.”

ISKCON Bangalore wants to increase the reach of this initiative to more hospitals in Bangalore in the coming days for the benefit of the underprivileged.

About the NGO: ISKCON Bangalore has been serving the underprivileged sections of society through various social welfare programs since 1997. Through their Annadana programs, they have sumptuously fed lakhs of people over the last 25 years. Now they need your help to feed the poor patients and their families
