Help provide nutritious food to poor and orphaned children

Holistic Education Mission was started in 2008 with 31 students and one teacher in a kuchcha house.

The founder of the HEM was the first one in his household to go to school and the first one to graduate from his village. During his school days, he developed a vision to educate other underprivileged kids from his village and surrounding area.

At the moment, HEM takes care of 315 orphaned, abandoned, and destitute children from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and the Silvasa area. Ours is the only home-based English-medium school in the region, and 65% of children are first-generation schoolers. For the last 10 years, the founders have taken care of most of the expenses of the small business that they are running, but for one year, their business hasn't functioned.

Feeding and caring for 315 is a big task, as we don’t have enough resources at our disposal at this moment. Since last year, we have been struggling to provide them with adequate, nutritious food. HEM believes that every child should be given equal opportunity irrespective of the caste, religion, or financial status to which they belong.

Every child has an equal right to dream and fly high. Therefore, we have launched a campaign to raise groceries for our children's daily meals. About the NGO: Holistic Educational Mission (HEM Ashram) is a charitable non-profit organization serving disadvantaged segments of the Indian population since 2008. We mainly address the needs of poor and orphan children, youth, women, and the rural poor. HEM Ashram is committed to meeting the holistic needs of this weaker section of society. We mainly work among the tribals of the Dangs region. The Dangs region consists of Dangs, Valsad, Navsari, and Silvassa.
