Abandoned And Rescued Cows Need Your Help To Eat
Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.
Cows are highly-respected in our country and yet we see many cows abandoned on the streets. These cows are domesticated and gentle creatures, and they don’t fare well on the streets. They are at constant risk for road traffic accidents, attacks from other animals, and cruelty from humans. Hunger and thirst are their daily companions.
Most of these stray cows have been abandoned by their owners after the cows stop giving milk, get old, or if there are financial difficulties. Facing these challenges, many cattle owners simply leave their animals or drive them away. This is a very traumatic experience for the animals and sadly, their plight only gets worse from here on. There are over 5 million such stray cows across India.
Stray cows don’t deserve to live such hard lives. These gentle giants are intelligent animals that provide us with many essentials. As such, it should be our duty to care for them in the same way we care for our pets. Many organisations undertake the task of rescuing abandoned cows, among them is Gau Seva Parivar Samiti.
Gau Seva Parivar Samiti runs 8 gaushalas in the areas surrounding Jaipur. Almost all the rescued cows are Indian breed cows and most of them are cows that have been abandoned or rescued from slaughterhouses. Gau Seva Parivar Samiti was founded in 2009 and since then they have been working tirelessly to improve the lives of Indian cows.
It currently cares for over 7500 cows across all 8 gaushalas. At their gaushalas, the cows are provided with shelter, open spaces, safe water, and healthy food. These cows now have a chance for a better life. Gau Seva Parivar Samiti has been taking in more cows during this pandemic, despite all difficulties. They are now asking for your help to continue their mission.
Donate fodder and help Gau Seva Parivar Samiti feed rescued cows.
