This Shivratri, Tarini Needs Your Support To Serve Warm Meals To Hundreds In Need
Project
Shivratri is one of the most sacred occasions dedicated to Lord Shiva. Every year, thousands of devotees travel to Uttarakhand to offer prayers and seek blessings. Rishikesh becomes a center of faith, devotion, and hope.
But while many come to worship, countless poor families and pilgrims struggle to find even a single meal.
This Shivratri, their hunger must not be ignored.
When Faith Meets Hunger
During Shivratri, large numbers of devotees and pilgrims gather in and around Rishikesh. For many underprivileged families, daily wage workers, elderly people, and children, this season brings not celebration, but uncertainty.
Feeding Rishikesh, an initiative of Maa Annapurna Sewa Trust, is working tirelessly to ensure that no one sleeps hungry.
Even today, they serve around 650 warm meals daily to the poor, elderly, children, and stranded pilgrims.
Tarini Ma Dagnino, a Venezuelan woman, chose to dedicate her life to feeding the hungry in Rishikesh.
“I was far away from my home, but when I saw the suffering of people here, I knew I had to do something. That is how Feeding Rishikesh began. Today, we feed around 700 to 800 people every day,”
– Tarini Ma Dagnino, Co-founder, Feeding Rishikesh
Feeding Rishikesh has been working relentlessly to ensure that hunger does not defeat faith.
Over time, they have served meals to thousands of people across Rishikesh and nearby areas. This Shivratri, they want to reach even more people who are struggling to survive.
