Story of the changemaker
Karthika Purnima, also known as Tripurari Purnima, is a significant festival observed on the full moon day of the Karthigai month in the traditional calendar. The lighting of lamps during this time symbolizes peace, hope, and prosperity, filling homes and streets with a warm glow that represents light overcoming darkness.
During the celebrations, lamps are kept burning for several days, creating a sight that inspires joy and togetherness among everyone who visits.
Tiruvannamalai is not only known for its temples and spiritual heritage but is also home to thousands of Saints and people who live with very limited means. Many of them depend on visitors and the local community for their daily meals and basic needs.
For over 15 years, Satguru Charitable Trust has been dedicated to supporting these communities in Tiruvannamalai. The Trust has continuously provided nutritious meals and assistance to the Saints and the poor, ensuring that no one is left hungry.
This Karthika Purnima, Satguru Charitable Trust will organize Anna Daanam (free meal distribution) from 20th November to 15th December to serve the poor, the needy, Saints, and visitors arriving for the celebration.
You can be part of this effort by contributing from home. Your support can help provide wholesome meals and spread light through compassion.
