When women support each other, incredible things happen.The second wave of the pandemic has left the city of Lucknow devastated. With an increased number of deaths, many families have lost their sole earning member and they’re struggling to fend for themselves. Hundreds of women have been widowed, with no means to support their children or get employed.
Eye surgeon, Dr. Jhumi, along with Foresee India Foundation, wants to empower these widows by training them in specific skills which will help them be financially independent.
Foresee India Foundation Aims To Build A Safe And Prosperous Society
Foresee India Foundation is the brainchild of Dr Aahuti Bajpai Ojha, who has a doctorate in environmental science and has numerous research papers to her credit. She started the NGO with the vision of promoting community participation in environmental and social issues to help build a safer, happier and prosperous society.
Based out of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the Foresee is dedicated to social welfare and environmental conservation. During this second wave, they’re determined to help widowed women stand on their own feet with their initiative Karishma Karyashala.
They want to empower widowed women
Under their initiative, Karishma Karyashala, Foresee India Foundation wants to train these women who have lost their only support in skills such as tailoring and beauty care so that they can become financially independent and support themselves and their children. For this, they want to set up twenty sewing machines with which they will be able to train over 60 affected widows and young girls every month.

They now need your help to get sewing machines, scissors, stool sets and white boards used for sewing to help train these women in these skills.
