Help 69 YO Mark Feed Fresh Meals To 120+ Abandoned Elderly In Need

    Project

In the rush of Mumbai, 69-year-old Mark D’Souza chose to slow down—for a reason close to his heart.

For the past 13 years, he has been cooking and delivering warm, home-cooked meals to 120 lonely senior citizens in Borivali—every single day, for free.

He doesn’t run an NGO. He isn’t backed by any trust. But to the elderly he serves, Mark is their son.

His journey began on November 14, 2012—Children’s Day and the day his twin grandsons were born. While the world celebrated children, Mark sent his first tiffin to a lonely neighbour.

I want to do something for the elderly,” he told his wife. She gave him ₹5,000 and said, “Start tomorrow.” So he did.

What began with 5 tiffins has become a lifeline for 120+ elderly people in Mumbai—some abandoned, some bedridden. Mark D’Souza, 69, sends them fresh, nutritious meals daily—never leftovers, never the same menu.

With help from dabbawalas, grocers, and his own children, nearly 1000 rotis are served each day. Even illness, arthritis, or the ICU couldn’t stop him. Mark cooks with love, sneaks in treats, and brings forgotten elders joy. He runs this from his savings, accepting only groceries—not money.

Mark’s health is failing. Climbing stairs hurts more now. But he doesn’t stop. He still uses his own savings to feed over 120 elders every day. He never asks for money—only groceries. Kind grocers, neighbours, even strangers pitch in with discounts, supplies, and prayers.

But the need is growing. And so is the struggle. You can help. Donate groceries and let’s ensure no elderly sleeps hungry.

About the NGO: Mark D’Souza has spent the last 13 years feeding forgotten elders—using nothing but his own savings. He couldn’t bear to see them go hungry. So he cooked, packed, and delivered hot, nutritious meals—day after day, year after year.
