41 Lives Lost, Thousands Displaced. Stand With The Victims of Jammu and Punjab Floods

On August 26-27, 2025, relentless monsoon rains triggered catastrophic floods and landslides across Jammu and Punjab. In moments, water surged through villages, towns, and cities, destroying homes, submerging roads, and leaving entire communities stranded.

In Jammu & Kashmir, at least 41 people have lost their lives, including 30 in a massive landslide near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi, and scores more across the region. Flash floods and rain have forced the evacuation of over 5,000 people from flooded neighborhoods. Dozens remain missing beneath debris or swept away by raging rivers. Connectivity roads, rail, and digital lines have been cut. Schools and colleges are shut. Key bridges and essential infrastructure have collapsed or been severely damaged.

“I heard the roar of water and ran with my family. We lost everything—our home is gone,” shares Ramesh, a resident of Jammu whose family barely escaped the surging floodwaters.

The worst-affected districts include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar, where several villages remain submerged and thousands of residents have been displaced.
