In Muzaffarpur, floodwaters have entered thousands of houses, disrupting daily life and leaving families in desperate need. The scenes on the ground are heartbreaking: people taking refuge on rooftops or makeshift shelters, children crying out of hunger and fear, and families struggling to protect themselves from the elements. The people of Bihar urgently need your support to survive and rebuild their shattered lives.

Homes, Schools, And Entire Villages Have Been Impacted, Leaving Lakhs Of People In Despair

Due to excessive rainfall in Nepal's catchment areas, the sudden increase in water levels in the Bagmati River has led to severe flooding in Muzaffarpur and surrounding districts. Water has inundated over a thousand homes across 18 panchayats, leaving thousands of people cut off from their block and district headquarters. The rapid flooding has also impacted areas like West Champaran, Saharsa, Gopalganj, and Supaul. 

In addition to homes, schools in the region are filled with floodwater, disrupting education for hundreds of children. The floodwaters have also caused rapid land erosion along the banks of the West Bagmati River, further endangering lives and property. The long-term impact of this disaster will be felt for years as families struggle to rebuild and recover from the loss of homes, crops, and essential infrastructure.
