“Most cows’ agony starts long before they are dead. They are taken to slaughterhouses in overcrowded vehicles where they are not given food or water, and sometimes even get injured during the journey. At the slaughterhouses, they go through unbearable pain. Extremely hot water is sprayed on them , their skin is peeled, and they’re eventually killed. Our cows deserve a painless, more dignified life than this.” - Dineshbhai Jivrajbhai Anada, Trustee, Shree Jalaram Gaushala
Located in Bhabhar, Gujarat, Shree Jalaram Gaushala was started by a group of individuals who are passionate about rescuing our gau matas. Today, it is the largest gaushala taking care of sick and diseased cattle. While they continue working for the welfare of cattle day and night, they need your help in their mission to give these cows a better life.
Shree Jalaram Gaushala Cares For Sick Cows
With an aim to save the holy cow, Shree Jalaram Gaushala is home to stray, abandoned and neglected cows whom they treat with love and care. They have over 9000+ cattle who are fighting rare condition and other deadly diseases. Some of the cows are even visually challenged and struggle with other debilitating disabilities.
At Shree Jalaram Gaushala, all their medical needs are taken care of and they’re once again given a new lease of life. The rescued cattle have a forever home at the gaushala where every member’s priority is to look after these gentle animals.
“We work across Gujarat to get the diseased cattle here to look after them. We want to continue giving more cows a safe and secure home. We can’t abandon them just because they’re sick, they need help now more than ever. The cow is now just an animal, but a member of our family.”

They Need Your Help To Protect Our Cows
While Shree Jalaram Gaushala continues to rescue and rehabilitate cows amid the crisis, they can’t do it on their own anymore. There continue to be a countless number of cows roaming the streets, with no help in sight or no one to offer them any food. They eat what they find in the garbage, often swallowing plastic. Consumption of plastic, toxic elements and non-biodegradable items proves fatal to them and results in dangerous diseases like rare condition and hernia.
“It’s our responsibility to care for these cows. Especially the sick ones. No one wants to have anything to do with them.”
Shree Jalaram Gaushala needs your help to get fodder and medicines for these cows who need medical care and good nutrition to survive. After suffering through a world of pain, these cows have finally found a place they can call home, with people who care for their wellbeing. Your support will help them recover and live a healthy life.
