Support Live2Rescue To Give 200+ Animals A Second Chance In Ladakh

“We once rescued a dog with multiple fractures on his right leg. An accident had left him fighting for his life and when we brought him in, we knew the only option was to amputate his leg. He was scared, losing a lot of blood, and was in severe pain. However, with the support of the vet and our staff, his surgery was successful. Today, although he lost a limb, he has recovered beautifully and is a healthy dog that is loving and playful. This is why we do what we do - to give these animals a second chance at life and watch them thrive.” - Rigzin Dorjai, Project Coordinator, Live2Rescue

30 kilometers away from Leh, Ladakh, amidst the rugged, towering mountain ranges, lies Live2Rescue’s shelter, home to 200+ dogs, cows, Donkeys, sheep, goats, Ibex, and more. Here, they’re given healthy food every day, medical care, and a permanent place to call home.

Harsh Weather Conditions, Diverse Terrains And A Lack Of Funds Proves To Be Challenge For Them

Started in 2014 by the blessings of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa and His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche from Hemis Monastery and in joint collaboration with the Young Drukpa Association and Animal Husbandry Department, Live2Rescue welcomes stray animals in need with open arms. They have rescued countless animals over the years, giving them the love and care they need to survive.

“We get 8 to 10 rescue calls every day. People reach out to us whenever they see an animal in need, and we do our best to respond to all these animals in time with our ambulance. Whether they are injured, sick, or abandoned, we give them the care they need. The ones who recover are dropped back to where we found them. And those with disabilities and who need permanent care stay with us.”

During the summers, Live2Rescue gets leftover food from a hotel in Leh, which segregates the food for them and donates it for the animals. During the winter, their challenges increase. Harsh weather conditions and snow make it difficult for them to carry on their operations, but they still never give up. Their staff of six looks after each animal with utmost dedication.

Help This Animal Shelter In Ladakh Rescue Many More In Need

Live2Rescue now urgently needs your support to provide essential supplies for the animals in their care. They require a steady supply of animal food to ensure proper nutrition, medicines to treat various health issues and injuries, and hygiene supplies to maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals. Your contributions can make a significant difference in their ability to care for these vulnerable animals, giving them the best chance at a healthy and happy life.
