Nearly two weeks after the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the death toll has surpassed 46,000 - and the numbers are only increasing. While rescue operations and relief work continue, there are thousands of people who’ve lost everything they had and have nowhere to go now. The massive earthquake of 7.8 magnitudes ravaged both countries and destroyed countless lives.

Every day we see heartbreaking images of children, parents, family members and animals - some who’ve been separated from their loved ones, some who’ve lost everyone and everything they’ve known and others whose homes came crashing down before their eyes. The situation in Turkey and Syria continues to be serious - they need all the help they can get.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an NGO in India headquartered in Bengaluru that strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government schools and government-aided schools. Additionally, they also aim to counter malnutrition and support the right to education for socio-economically disadvantaged children. Today, Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) Mid-Day Meal Programme serving wholesome food every school day to over 2 million children from 22,367 schools across 15 states & 2 Union territories of India. However, they also have several other initiatives, including disaster relief.

Barclays, Donatekart Foundation and Akshaya Patra are determined to reach out to thousands of those who have been devastated by the earthquake. And they need your support to do that.
